Vibes Electronic Whisper Mute VAS II for Alto Sax It is extremely difficult to mute a saxophone because sound leaks out from all the tone holes.The Vibes sax mute is the most effective mute we have come across because the alto sax is completely enclosed. The lightweight plastic case is also lined with sound absorbing material to minimise any leakage. The mute has a built in microphone and is supplied with earphones so you can hear yourself clearly. It even has a built in metronome and echo effect! There is an additional socket so you can plug in and play along with backing tracks or your favourite recordings. There is a line out socket in case you want to record yourself playing. A sax harness is provided to make using the Vibes sax mute as comfortable as possible. Also included are a series of small floating balls to be placed inside bell used to strengthen low notes (this is a variation on the old trick of putting a cork in the bow of a sax & assists with a low register problem some players had experienced with earlier versions of the Sax mute).
